SEPTA Access, formerly known as CCT Connect, provides ADA paratransit for people whose physical or cognitive disabilities prevent them from using regular fixed-route transit for some or all trips.
Eligibility is based on a person’s reduced ability or lack of functional ability to use regular transit, not simply on a diagnosis or age. The application process may include forms completed by a healthcare professional, an interview, and a functional assessment by SEPTA.
Caregiver tip: Be very clear about what prevents your loved one from using regular transit safely. Describe problems with walking to a stop, navigating stairs, understanding routes, waiting safely, or traveling alone. Do not assume the reviewer will understand the full situation from a diagnosis alone.
SEPTA Access is public transportation. It is not medical transportation, emergency transportation, or a personal care service. A rider who cannot safely travel alone may need an approved personal care attendant.
